Printing Durable Directional Flow Stickers

A large national waste management company operates some of the UK’s most demanding processing sites, where clearly marking what flows through each pipe and in which direction, is vital to maintain safety, efficiency and compliance.

On sites like these, conditions can be particularly harsh. High temperatures, awkward or uneven pipe surfaces, frequent cleaning, and the daily wear and tear of industrial operations all mean that standard labels tend to fail quickly. Peeling edges, faded arrows and missing stickers can lead to confusion and even safety risks.

That’s where we came in. We were asked to design a labelling solution that would stand up to everything these sites could throw at it and keep critical information visible for as long as possible.

To tackle the challenge, we specified a high-performance material that bonds securely to rough or irregular surfaces and stays put, even when exposed to heat and cleaning chemicals. The graphics are printed with inks that resist fading and scratching, so the arrows and flow information stay crisp and legible.

We also designed the stickers to be easy to install on-site. Their flexibility means they can wrap smoothly around awkward pipework, and our production setup allows us to deliver them quickly whenever the site team needs a fresh batch, keeping projects moving and maintenance up to date.
