The Brief: Large-Scale Fleet Graphics Installation Across 120+ Municipal Vehicles

Recently, one of our installers was back on site in Milton Keynes and took a fresh set of photos of the SUEZ fleet we originally installed back in 2023.

It’s not one we’ve written about before, but seeing the vehicles again, still out on the road and still looking the part, felt like a good time to fix that.

At the end of summer 2023, SUEZ rolled out a new waste and recycling contract in Milton Keynes, requiring the installation of fleet graphics across over 120 vehicles.

The fleet included a mix of RCVs of various sizes, alongside ancillary vehicles such as street cleansing units, large sweepers and cage tippers, all needing to be fully liveried and ready for service.

As with other large-scale rollouts, installations were carried out across multiple locations around the UK, with vehicles being prepared and graphics applied ahead of delivery to site. A small number of vehicles were completed on-site in Milton Keynes following the contract start, ensuring full fleet consistency.

Planning & Coordination Across Multiple Fleet Installation Sites

With the volume of vehicles and range of types involved, organisation was key.

Graphics were produced, packed and distributed in line with build schedules, ensuring each vehicle received the correct kit based on its type and specification. Working across multiple install locations required careful coordination so that everything arrived where it needed to be, without slowing down the overall rollout.

The aim was simple: every vehicle delivered into Milton Keynes fully branded and ready to go from day one.

Durable Materials and Careful Application for Municipal Fleet Graphics

Municipal vehicles are some of the hardest working out there, with constant use and frequent cleaning forming part of their daily routine.

To ensure the graphics would hold up over time, we used high-performance materials suited to this environment, combined with careful application techniques to achieve a clean, consistent finish across the fleet.

As part of every install, we also include a vehicle graphics care guide, giving clear, practical advice on how to maintain the finish and avoid unnecessary wear, something that becomes increasingly important over the lifespan of the vehicle.

Fleet Graphics Performance After 2.5 Years in Service

Returning to the fleet more than two and a half years later gave us a chance to see how everything was holding up in real-world conditions. The condition of the graphics across the vehicles stood out immediately.

SUEZ have maintained a strict cleaning regime, and it shows. The graphics still look remarkably fresh, with strong colour and clean edges across vehicles that have been in daily operation since 2023.

It’s something we’ve heard consistently since the original rollout that the fleet has held its appearance well over time but seeing it first-hand again reinforces the point.

Vehicle Graphics Cleaning and Maintenance Best Practice

Longevity isn’t just down to materials and installation, how vehicles are looked after plays a big part too.

Avoiding harsh cleaning methods, such as traffic film remover (TFR), and sticking to appropriate washing processes helps preserve both the print and the adhesive over time.

We cover this in more detail here: How to look after your vehicle graphics

The Result: Fleet Graphics Built for Long-Term Performance

Fleet projects like this are always about delivering on time but the real test comes afterwards.

In Milton Keynes, the combination of durable materials, careful installation and proper maintenance has resulted in a fleet that still looks the part years down the line.

When everything lines up, this is what you get: graphics that don’t just look good on day one, but continue to perform in real working conditions.
