Supporting the Whitland Community Shed

Helping give old things a new lease of life — one sign, one offcut, and one split-screen delivery at a time.
When we first heard about the Whitland Community Shed, we knew straight away it was something worth supporting. It’s a brilliant project built around bringing people together, sharing skills, and making the most of what’s already out there. Instead of letting things go to waste, the Shed team are giving materials, tools, and ideas a new lease of life while creating a space where the community can connect, repair, and reuse.
At Mobad, that mindset really resonates with us - not least because of all the work we do in the waste sector. We hate seeing good materials go unused, so when the chance came up to get involved, we jumped at it.
Turning Offcuts Into Something Useful
One of the ways we’ve helped is by using offcuts, leftover stock, and materials that we can’t do much with — things that might otherwise have ended up in the bin and then using them to help brand the project professionally.
We also designed and made a new sign for them to display their opening times. It’s made using a pavement board we had in stock, one that’s no longer made in that size — something obsolete turned into something genuinely useful.

Signs, Banners, and a Hot Delivery
We took the sign over in our split-screen VW van (on what felt like the hottest day of the year!) and handed it over to Andy. Seeing it come out of the back of the van and knowing it’s helping support such a positive project was a proud moment for us.
On top of that, we created some big banners which were dotted around Whitland for their grand opening weekend.
Why We Want to be Involved
The Whitland Community Shed isn’t just about tools and timber, it’s about people and connections, sharing skills, and finding clever ways to make the most of what we’ve got. We’re really proud to play even a small part in supporting what they’re building and can’t wait to see the space evolve.
If you’re local, pop down when you see the pavement board outside, and see what they’re all about.
