World Refill Day at MOBAD

Today is World Refill Day — a global campaign to help people live with less plastic. It got me thinking about the humble water bottle on my desk.
I’ve used a refillable bottle for over ten years now (I’m on my second one, the spouts eventually give up, but it’s still a world better than single-use). It holds 600ml and I usually top it up two to four times a day; simple, healthy, and no plastic waste piling up from throwaway bottles. Over ten years, that’s about 7,300 single-use bottles I didn’t need, all thanks to one simple habit!
This morning, spotting a few single-use bottles in the recycling reminded me there’s an easy switch we can all make. So, as a small but meaningful step, we’re treating everyone at Mobad to a brand new Ocean Bottle. They’re a brilliant B Corp doing great work to tackle ocean-bound plastic waste, every bottle funds the collection of 1,000 plastic bottles’ worth of ocean-bound plastic.
I’ve just shared the news with the team and they’re delighted, a small gift that helps us all do our bit.
We’re only a small company, but small actions add up. Here’s to a little more water, a little less waste and a refill mindset that goes beyond just bottles.
